When his latest assignment is botched (due to a misplaced pie), he pulls himself together to find a memory card that was hidden inside the pie.
In a chase for the truth, Barry fends off all manner of psychopaths, including the insidious agents of the Free-Cutters, an off-shoot of the Masons.
The search for answers leads Barry and gang, which includes an unemployed bad-back sufferer and a French gap-year student, to Cumbria where his enemies are queuing up for him.
